So, as I'm sure most of you are aware, numerous states and other jurisdictions have done away with their mask ordinances, sometimes outlawing them completely.
Why won't Columbia, SC? Why does the city council refuse to discuss it outside of executive sessions now? During a yesterday's council meeting, the mayor told a caller it was his prerogative to hold discussions over issues affecting the public without their input.

In fact, many refuse to take calls from the public, and one, Duvall, has informed me that he doesn't have to consider the will of the public--he has to protect us from the "false prophets" who mislead us.

As many of you from the area know, the Columbia City Council plans to keep extending their COVID ordinance. Duvall Even told me it doesn't matter how the public feels about it--it's THEIR place to decide how we live, and not the other way around. He actually told me this.

Councilman Duvall of the Columbia City Council (SC) actually texted this to me about the COVID ordinance. He thinks we're children--and this is after telling me before they were under no obligation to consider what the public wants. Rickenmann has apparently fallen into this way of thinking, too, since he used to say COVID restrictions were unconstitutional, but now enthusiastically supports them.
