President Trump has a plan and it doesn’t involve congress meeting on Jan 6. It is very unlikely anything will come of it but a symbolic show of protest from a few patriots. Senate Republicans don’t seem keen on ignoring certified votes and it will take more than a handful of them.
Trump and his team know this is an unlikely outcome. The ace-in-the-sleeve is the insurrection act and similar provisions. Maybe a legal victory under the right circumstances.
