I'm saying college level for this because the school is using Canvas. Colleges most commonly use Canvas, at least the colleges I'm familiar with. This is a discussion form that teachers commonly use in online classes to try to get their students to 'interact' with each other and to prevent procrastination by making them plan out their assignments before the due date. While the assignment looks pretty simple and probably is, the class is either a speech class (and they're analyzing a speech) or a composition class where they're assigned to write about a speech. I would say now that it's most likely a composition class.
Some college classes are stupidly easy, especially in the community colleges. But, it could be a high school too. I wouldn't be able to debunk that since I'm not very familiar with public high schools.
