Many of us know about John Adam's quote on how July 2, 1776 would be remembered as one of the greatest days in American history. For those who don't, John Adams said July 2nd "will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival… It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade with shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this continent to the other from this Time forward forever more".
We all know that July 4th would be the better known date for American independence, as July 4th was the day where the Declaration of Independence was approved. However, I feel that we should take a moment to remember why July 2nd was thought by John Adams to be an important day. On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress declared its freedom from England through a vote put out by Henry Lee of Virginia. It was this event that caused John Adams to believe in the importance of the date. However, the Declaration of Independence was approved on July 4th, the date was signed on the document, and it stuck over the years.
So why the post about July 2nd?
I want to remind every pede of a vote that ultimately declared our nation free and independent. Remember, we ourselves have an important vote coming up that determines what path our nation will take. One takes us on a path to tyranny, communism, and a culture of death and division. The other will continue the freedom and independence dreamt up by our Founding Fathers. Personally, I prefer the latter. That path to freedom will happen through re-electing President Trump.
I believe that President Trump will help us secure our freedom from the tyranny of the leftists and globalists. I know many of you believe this to be true as well. So we must ensure that Trump wins! Always believe that we are just barely behind Sleepy Joe! Always believe that we need just a bit more effort to win in November! Fight as if our country's life depends on it because it very well might! Remember July 2nd just as well as July 4th or November 8th. Remember it as a day to inspire us to continue to declare our God-given rights and liberties as something not to be trifled with! Remember that all that is needed for a declaration of freedom is a vote. And remember that after the vote, we will need to continue to fight for our right to live as freemen, just as our founding fathers did.
So fight on my fellow patriots! Let us ring out this Independence Day, both now and July 4th, not hiding inside our homes waiting to be let out, but celebrating it as it ought to be celebrated. Celebrate it as if there was no virus! Show the enemies of country, domestic and international, our love of country will always overpower their hatred of our freedoms!
Today, July 2nd, we reflect on our freedoms and the coming battles to preserve our beloved country. This Saturday, July 4th, we declare the continued independence of the United States of America with fireworks and celebration! And finally, until this November when the polls close, we fight with our vote and our effort to get others to stand up to tyranny.
May God, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless this country and guide us in our battle to protect it.
