Tears of compassion. Tears of hope. Tears of Joy!!!!
Here's to 4 more years!!!!
So I think there is a new virus that started spreading through the human population last fall. Whenever there's a new virus it's going to affect greatly a certain part of your population.
But the lifespan of this affecting the population is about 2 months. Look at China, look at Italy, look at Spain, look at New York City... After 2 months they're in the clear to where the numbers are like any other cold/flu.
But it really doesn't matter what you do or don't do during that 2 months. Italy locked down; Sweden did not. They both went through a time where there was greater hospitalization and death rate, but then after that first two months both dropped significantly. Italy seemed harder hit, because it hit the part of their population that had lots of underlying conditions: old age, smoking, diabetes, heart conditions.
But I think in the future we will look back and realize that lockdowns and masks did not affect the curve as much as they are telling us. It just has to run its course.
I do think locking down visitors to certain hospital wings, and to nursing homes is a good step especially in the first 6 months that it hits an area. But even this has ramifications on patient care and quality of life that need to be looked at. So it needs to be short-term for sure.
The problem where I live, is that we are rural and a small town. So we were locked down for about 4 months before it even hit here. and now that cases are going up, everybody just needs to be back to work because we can't afford to be shut down anymore.
The owners of the local chain Pizza Inn of Carlsbad, NM and Hobbs, NM put out word through social media on Saturday that they and a handful of other locally owned restaurants were remaining open for all services including Dine-in despite the new health order restrictions. Governor Grisham had recently opened restaurants for dine-in with spacing, and C19 health protocols in place.
Pizza Inn in both locations recently remodeled their ventilation and other areas to be sure that the health of customers was protected. They were using disposable gloves for all food and utensils handling.
The customers showed up as a "peaceful protest" of the order, many with signs referencing

Local Sherriffs of Eddy and Lea County have said they are not in charge of enforcing the health orders.
But someone called in the state police who showed up and gave a hefty fine to the open restaurant.
GOP is suing the governor of NM with many different law suits right now, but the courts have been slow to respond.
