Cherokee isn't even the name they called themselves upon the landing of European settlers.

Anyway, this is silly, we don't give any other ethnic group or "tribe" IP rights in the name as applied to irrelevant goods. There is no reason to grant them any special privileges.

I'll remember to pay Macron a fee the next time I sell some french fries- the tribe has no property interest in the name "Cherokee" as applied to cars.

Don't be played by this back the blue amendment - there's a reason that every senator voted for it. It is a toothless gesture of virtue signaling.

It creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the discretion of the executive branch to spend federal surplus dollars on anything related to law enforcement (be it better equipment and training, or classes in critical race theory).

The fund only comes into force when there is an overall budget surplus at the federal level - and our government shows no interest in a balanced budget let alone a surplus. This is nothing more than political theater.

Super short version:

Hedge fund borrowed a bunch of shares of gamestop stock, promising to return them at a particular date. Then, they immediately sold the stock, assuming that the price will be lower on the date of return, allowing them to pocket the difference. (This is called a short sell). The fact that they made this trade is public information, including the date of return.

Wallstreetbets users decided to buy up all the loose shares of gamestop on the market, refusing to sell until after the dare of return. Now, the hedge fund has a very small supply of gamestop shares to purchase from, but a demand for a very high number before that date of return.

Prior to wallstreetbets cutting the supply in the market, gamestop stock sold for less than $10 per share. The hedge fund was betting on the price decreasing before the date of return. Instead, the supply shortage has made the price for gamestop stock rise to over $300 per share.

Hedge fund now must spend ~100 times per share more than they were expecting to finish this deal - if not more. That could amount to tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars.

Ag isn't much of a free market in the US these days- subsidies and price floors are the name of the game, unfortunately

No, he would still be 45, just for four more years. It is truly impossible for him to be 46. He could mathematically be 45 or 47, but some other human being will be 46 - we don't count by term but by presidency.

For most of this nation's history, senators were not elected by the people. It's only been in the last 110 years or so that the people have had a direct say in who is their senator.

It says "OECD, WHO, CDC" - CDC gets US stats, WHO and OECD must be the source for the others.

I mean, they sorta did grant that power exclusively to congress and not to a central bank - Article 1 Section 8 [Congress shall have the power...] Clause 5:

"To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures"

This shouldn't be delegable to a third party, particularly not to a private entity

Article 1 Section 6 Clause 1:

"They [meaning the elected reps of the legislative branch] shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place."

That's a constitutional privilege granted exclusively to the legislature- not to citizens
