Trump never wanted you to storm the Capitol, genius.
He wanted you to stand there and smile and cheer at his speech while he rants and rants, because he loves that, and then he wanted you to march around the Capitol so that Biden's election would be marred by the "huge" Trump protests, and Trump could continue to claim that America totally supports him because "look at all those people marching around with Trump flags on TV."
That was Trump's exit plan. Never admit defeat, leave but claim he was cheated, and he thought his supporters will just follow him into a new resistance movement where you cheer and listen to his Trump rally rants till the end of his days. Maybe run in 2024, maybe start Trump TV, who knows...
Never in a million years did he want this. This is a nightmare.
Texas enjoys its lack of state income tax and its federal hurricane disaster relief bailouts way too much. All that conservative lack of rules and regulations only works because the federal government picks up the cost of the expensive stuff.
Also, we kicked Texas's ass once before for trying to secede and we'll do it again.

I never said the U.S. doesn't make higher-quality goods than China. But the law of comparative advantage says that you should produce what you are most comparatively better at than other nations. You don't try to produce everything.
You picked a terrible example with shoes, a good that is pretty much entirely made overseas unless you're paying ridiculous marked-up luxury prices.
99% of Americans by the way don't give a shit about the "quality" of a basic good, and just sees them as interchangeable. Even if they recognize a distinct difference in quality, price wins out pretty much every time.
That is why airline travel sucks. You might think "Hey, maybe there's a market where customers will pay a little more to have more leg room, more in-flight amenities, etc." But nope, the only people look at in choosing a ticket is price. So it's a race to the bottom where you can only win by packing as many people as you can into the plane to lower per-ticket cost, and therefore offer the worst good possible.
The goalposts had to move on this forum, because you were quickly banned for "concern-trolling" or "dooming" or "not supporting Trump" if you dared to say "Hey, guys, Trump was wrong."
The only people left by the end were the ones still deep in the cult group-think.
Our nation's enemies love to see "the elites run for safety" too. God only knows how many Russian/Chinese/Iranian/North Korean spies put on a MAGA hat and looted the halls of Congress for precious intel, hidden in the crowd of idiots and allowed to walk home like everyone else.
