Let's draw the line between politicians who share their power with, and draw their power from, the people (populists) and the elitists who've run the system into the ground for decades
Power to the people is definitely something we can ALL agree on.This is the most reassuring response I've seen yet. So glad to see people thinking this way in the Trump camp! Thank you.
this starts to look more and more like an alliance of the Sane instead of a political platform
I couldn't agree more.
Could you please share your itemized objections to my fiscal views? It will help me understand your side of the narrative as well. That's how we make progress. Discourse.
The man is without question, the most honest politician in Washington (you can't dispute the man's voting record or adherence to principles), thus I truly believed he would do everything he said. That means something to me.
For the rest of my explanation, see my response to u/Eu-is-socialist which lays out my fiscal/economic views, all of which Bernie supports.
Sure.
I am in-favor of increasing taxes on the wealthy, perhaps not back to level of the FDR era, but certainly making them pay more of their fair-share than they are now. The rich make the majority of their money on capital gains, something that is taxed LESS than what most people in the middle-class are paying.
I am favor of social programs that benefit the middle-class. Increased funding for education, daycares, etc. Let's use the money from properly taxing capital gains etc to fund these things!
I would rather see nationalization of certain utilities (e.g. broadband infrastructure) than exploitative monopolies at the hands of groups like comcast. I am pro-union and also in favor of worker co-ops (i.e. true democracy in the workplace) rather than the more prevalent arrangement.
Biden is a neoliberal who will make no meaningful changes to the economic system; he'll just be a return to the old ruling class. He won't stand up for worker's rights in terms of trade agreements as Trump has, and he has shown a complete willingness to be cucked by BLM. Even if someone were to tell me that Trump would also make no meaningful economic changes in the way I'd like, I'd still choose him over Biden if it means combating the SJW narrative.
The left is eating itself; as they always do.
That would solve the problem in the short-term, but don't you think that would eventually just bring us right back full circle when those smaller companies begin to congeal into the big giants again? Cut out the middle-man, no half-measures etc.
