I worked for an Ivy League hospital and it was insane how immoral and full of hubris they were. I was an executive consultant which is sort of like a personal trainer for business intelligence. The amount of money they made, that I made, and my fellow consultants and their retarded 'clients' made was ungodly.
It was the most hypocritial, nepotistic, and caste-system company I've ever seen. After 3 years of their executives doing basically nothing I felt like I was stealing. Since nobody would actually action on our advice or even show up to meetings, I began sleeping in my offic, rolling into work around 11am, and turned my giant office into a play area. I had putters, a banging sound system, and video games. They loved to stop by and waste time with me, when I was actually around, or they'd order free meals for us and the other do-nothing executives.
Some of them would make jokes about how little we worked and me being a consultant, "don't put this in your reports, har har"
If this was was finance, where I came from, I'd be fine with that. But this was healthcare which is fuckin broke and every dollar counts. We were laying off nurses and staff every year to "cut costs" and here we were with all the perks in the world. We'd have after work boat parties, comp'd lunches at nice restaurants, free parking, etc. Then I'd sit in awe as they decided who to lay off while never once considering that it was us who ate the lions share of the budget.
We were never on the chopping block. That's for the little people.
I left after 3 years, wrote them a literal "Fuck you and your values" email on my way out, and went back to investment banking. I made a lot more money and my people actually did great work for their clients. I will never again get anywhere near a fuckin univerisity. They are truly disgusting leeches.

I worked in a hospital for 3 years. Nurses are just female construction workers. They party hard, they’re crass, they’re bullies, it’s the exact same behavior seen by men building skyscrapers.
It’s important work but they are NOT angels nor is it a lifetime career. The burnout and fatigue takes a huge toll on their bodies and emotional stability.
We need nurses, but have a plan to get out bc it is not a sustainable life plan nor a sustainable way to live happily. Do your “tour” and have a plan to bounce out bc you won’t be happy long term. A lot of those women were miserable with heavy alcohol issues and food binges.

This was the big problem with DACA and Obama/Democrats. They didn't provide any pathways to citizenship, ever. These people can only apply while living in their home country, they cannot become citizens while here illegally or as DACA.

According to current law, every one of them must go home and THEN apply for citizenship while in their country of citizenship. The Dems pushed DACA reform hard and Trump said he was open to pathways, then they left the DACA people hanging.
