Personally, I think instead of selective service registration, every American who is physically and mentally capable should be required to complete 2 years in a branch of the military (at least in the reserves) similar to Israel. That's how we give back while earning our freedom. Plus, maybe it would instill some ethics and values into alot of these joggers and they would actually work to support their families instead of killing each other and blaming Whitey for all their problems.

But being required to be alive or a real person to vote is racist towards black people!

Don't feel bad. I graduated H.S. the year after you were born and guess what... Plenty of people my age still have no business voting.

Raise it to 31... Force people to experience the pitfalls of adult life for a decade or so. Work, kids, marriage, divorce, mortgage, car payments, child support, rehab... You know, all the good stuff. Then they will hopefully be more inclined to make an informed decision before casting their ballot after life kicks their ass for a while.

I know how you feel, Pede. My daughter was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer when she was 8. It is super rare for a child that young to get thyroid cancer but she had an 8 hour operation and radiation treatment and has to take synthroid for the rest of her life but she's now a healthy 17 year old. There will be good and bad days ahead but I have faith everything will work out for you and yours. Stay strong!
