My understanding of it was that Caitlyn Jenner isnt well liked in the community because Caitlyn transitioned but didn't become a big advocate in the community or for trans rights specifically.
Whether true or not, I find the sentiment oddly tribal and demanding, that one owes someone or a group of people something, because one has had a personal experience of their own.
