My theory is this:
Ever since Trump began to call for an investigation on what was going on in Ukraine all of the sudden Joe Biden started climbing the poles during the DNC Primaries and becoming the favorite to win, even though Sanders was clearly in the running.
He was propped up quickly to use the excuse that Trump couldn't "investigate a political opponent running for office" because if he goes down a ton of other corrupt shitbags from the Democratic party (Obama, Clintons, et...) would also be investigated and put in prison for all the corruption they were involved in. They had no choice but to make him the candidate, knowing full well that he's a senile fuck that is no where near being a good presidential candidate, let alone be the president of the Free World.
