Ben Shapiro has a good take on it, where he emphasizes similar values above all else, even if you're in different political parties when you meet. A lot of the time people are just the party of their parents, other times they just know things you don't and you know things they don't and it can be discussed.
But values are at the core.

I think it'd be genuinely fun to go to a biden rally, then go to a Trump rally, just to see the difference. Not just in the crowd, energy levels, and overall competence of the event, but what people there have to say and how they treat you.
I went to a trump rally and like five protestors showed up. Standard look. Grubby, mostly dressed in black, funky hair colors, etc. The crowd laughed at them and booed them. Not a single person got physical, or even in their space in a threatening manner.
Meanwhile, Trump supporters are getting jumped by armed mobs, even shot and killed in some cases.
Worst part is, there's actually some reasoning to calling democrats pedos. They're supporting an obvious pedophile for president. They're supporting the political side that's brazenly trying to normalize pedophilia. They're supporting the people who groom prepubescent kids into permanently altering their bodies to be the subject of a fetish.
Seriously, the brainwashing is so deep these people deny insurmountable amounts of evidence. Their brain's can't process that they could be wrong, because their worldview has been so far warped by the media, academia, and leftist circles.

This is something I notice with leftists nonstop. They hyper romanticize people of different backgrounds because they have so little exposure to them. The most fervently "anti racist" people I've ever met were all white from some suburb or small town where the most diversity they've experienced is that one or two black or hispanic people they know who are also from middle class suburban backgrounds.
