Conservative presence on social media is fighting on the left's turf and only gives them ammo to take away your livelihood and turn you into a social pariah.

As the old saying goes, never debate with a moron: They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Government involvement in regulation won't go the way you think and will only make it worse.

To be fair, I'm fairly certain the end goal of stripping legal protections off of social media is so that they will subsequently and very swiftly crash and burn completely due to the storm of lawsuits just waiting to happen. The end goal is to destroy social media, not improve it; the thing is fucking cancer for society and not worth saving.

So much this, police officers nationwide need to go on strike. If it takes burning the whole fucking country down to make everyone realize and appreciate the priceless work of the police, then so be fucking it.

You and I and everyone else here all know this is far from the endgame.

Now that we've gotten to the point of whiteblackwashing history, including our Founding Fathers, next up are all the documents and institutions they created. The Declaration of Independence? Burn it. The Constitution? Tear that shit apart. The American flag? Shit on it. The Armed Forces? Disband them. Washington, D.C.? Raze it all to the ground. The Smithsonian Institute? Destroy it, everything inside is a symbol of white supremacy.

I can go on and I shit you not this will come to pass. If the left can literally desecrate the people who founded this god damn country and get fucking away with it, nothing will stop them from destroying everything else. We are no fucking better than Soviet Russia and China, what the fuck happened to this country.

erecting monuments to fallen heroes. This has never been done before in human history

There are many famous figures in Japanese history with monuments and memorials who otherwise ended up on the, ahem, "wrong side of history" to the victors of their time. Saigou Takamori for example, a great statesman and bureaucrat who helped lay the foundations for modern Japan, but ended up revolting and losing to the government he helped create.

Individuals through their history have both accomplishments and failures, and we can and should be able to see them all individually by its own merits and demerits.

General Lee? He was a brilliant general, a man loyal to his homeland, and also once betrayed the United States for which he was eventually pardoned. Thomas Jefferson? He was a brilliant statesman, author of the Declaration of Independence, a Founding Father to be respected, and also a slave owner. Christopher Columbus? He was a pioneer who opened the way for wider exploration and colonization of the world by Europeans, he was also an idiot who wouldn't know an actual Indian if he saw one, and he was not nice to the peoples he came across in his travels.

All of these things can and should each be objectvely appreciated with context appropriate for their times. Saying that one thing completely negates the very value of their existence is ridiculous. Nobody on this planet is nor was a perfect angel.

If we do go down this stupid path that slavery alone negates one's value, humanity itself must be extinguished because our ancient ancestors in Rome, Greece, Egypt, Mesopotamia, and more all had slavery of some form in their societies. This is patently ridiculous nonsense.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, policy counsel at the American Immigration Council, said the new definitions regarding persecuted social groups would block nearly all Central Americans from gaining asylum. So would the rules on traversing other countries.

“Under the terms of the proposed rule, only Mexicans, Canadians, and people who come on a non-stop flight can apply for asylum,” he wrote on Twitter.

I don't see a problem. The point of seeking asylum is so you don't get fucking killed in your current country of residence due to religious or political reasons. If you manage to get out of that country, presumably you're safe now.

The goal of asylum is to leave your current, life-threatening country. Nothing more. There is no stipulation that the destination must be the US, and if you have the luxury to be picking which country to "escape" to then clearly you weren't in any real danger anyway.

If there's a redpill for the older generations, this has to be one of them. Pretty much everyone I know loves this movie.

Nobody believes this bullshit.

This. So much this.

I was reading the comics section of today's newspaper while eating lunch (pretty much the only thing worthwhile in newspapers anymore) and I noticed two things:

  • A comic strip that is very hard left and always screaming Orange Man Bad actually took a moment to reflect on Biden's "you're not black" comment and call him out for the idiot that he is. A hard left comic strip broke away from the leftist narrative, that's amazing.

  • A comic strip that usually features police officer characters showcased kids singing along to a song about the police and their invaluable work. The author subtlely and indirectly voiced support for our law enforcement in a time when doing so would get you fucking cancelled.

The ridiculous rhetoric that the media and the left are pushing right now will not stand the test of scrutiny by the common people. Even the media themselves apparently can't censor people on both sides of the political spectrum from calling out the ridiculous bullshit anymore.

We are a country that boasts one of the most (if not the most outright) nobel prizes in the sciences, we are the country that invented airplanes, we are the only country in the world to land men on the Moon and explore all nine planets of the Solar System and reach interstellar space.

We are also a country where some people think Africa is a country.

The average American is dumb as bricks, this is a sad fact. We're great at letting the smart people get ahead of the pack and lead us to greatness, but it doesn't change the fact the average American is dumb as bricks.

I eagerly await someone calling me a white supremacist over on something like Reddit, because then I can tell them I'm a Japanese-American and that they can take their racism and shove it up their ass.

The window of exploitation & opportunity is closing even faster than we expected.

We can debate what is creating the disconnect, but the chasm is undeniable. People are just not as organically tuned-in as the media would have you believe they are. The efforts of the social influencers are not yielding results; and you can see this reality in the way the media is increasingly desperate to keep pushing the messaging.

“Defund The Police” is not working outside the most severe leftist woke groups.

It's worth noting that the left tried to get the "fuck the cops" rhetoric going back during Ferguson, and I am embarrassed to say I was on board with that rhetoric back then because the media had exaggerated the problem so much and I was still unaware of the media's true nature. Compared to today, that rhetoric was much better received back then.

This time though? That rhetoric clearly isn't reaching as widely and quickly as it used to among ordinary people. I personally have gotten far more mature now over the 5 years since Ferguson, and I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that I recognize the media for what they truly are now. The media with all their fake news and propaganda are enemies of the people.

The failure of the left's attempts to spread their rhetoric can be attributed to the simple fact that the media can't cover for them anymore. The media can't even cover their own asses right now. When the media can't hide how delusional the left's rhetoric is, most people wake up to the fact that they've been played.

2017, so fairly old news at this point. Of course, that doesn't change that this rewriting of history is sickening.

Can confirm. Heard leftist talking heads on radio, back during Charlottesville, attempting to smear Jefferson "because he owned slaves" with utter disregard to history and facts.

3
Dalewyn 3 points ago +4 / -1

Back during Charlottesville, I overheard on the radio some leftist buffoon attempting to character assassinate Thomas Jefferson because he owned slaves. Nevermind that Jefferson treated his slaves as best he could and didn't even like the practice of slavery if he could have done anything about it.

The extent to which the left is ignorant and/or in denial of history and facts is really astonishing. Nobody insults our Founding Fathers, least of all for bullshit like this.
