I had a friend from Texas who did the same to the man who raped his 9 year young son. He was sentenced to nine years in prison. He was an opthalmologist. Lost everything. Understandable though his response was, the sentence left his son lost and unprotected for those nine years. Eventually the son committed suicide. My friend wrote an excellent book which is, as yet, unpublished. My friend passed away. I never found out whether these events took place in Texas or another State. I would imagine Texans would be more sympathetic to the case. Having prevented one of those pervs from hurting a child close to me, those sentences should have been suspended at the very least.
