There are several states within reach because of how things have changed this time around. A LOT of people in Virginia hate their governor and may be voting opposite him because of it. Trump has demonstrated that he's not the insane radical they made him out to be in 2016. D.C. has been screwed by the protests. Don't be a disenfranchised voter!

You played your cards right, you weren't being offense or rubbing their noses in it, but you also weren't compromising your beliefs for his sensitive little feelings. I've been a similar situation with an ex-girlfriend (who also was Hispanic; both of her parents were from Mexico). She was called me a "white supremacist sympathizer" because following Charlottesville I said I believed there were people on both sides looking for a fight and to stir the pot (why else would they show up armed with weapons?). Note how I never said that one side was correct or in the right, I simply called out individuals on both sides. Anyway, after she said that I just asked her that if I was a white supremacist why would I be dating someone that's Hispanic. She was quiet for a few seconds and then quietly said "I don't know..."
