Clarification: As I stated in the title, if law enforcement fucks with you for being at a protest, this is how you respond.
If you are pulled over for an infraction, it depends on what state you are in.
In Nevada where I live, you MUST hand over your ID for speeding, reckless driving, etc, or they will pull you out of your vehicle and arrest you. But then again, you weren't protesting, you were breaking a traffic law.
At an international border crossing, you must answer ALL questions if you don't want to be detained for 8 hours or more.
