She is "quirky" because she most likely realized at an early age she would never be considered a "beauty" by conventional standards. It is far more acceptable to her mentally to accept rejection for her self-chosen "quirks" than those things she could not help.
She could diet off perhaps 25 lbs and improve, but she would still be a "plain Jane". Make-up hair styling, and fashion can only help so much.
I actually feel sorry for her because this girl has long standing self-esteem issues buried under a definant protective mechanism. She needs loads of therapy...

Not possible and I will give you a reason why. My grandparents often told me stories about their parents. If such a catastrophic thing had occurred -- I assure you they would have mentioned it at some point or another. They did talk about known historical events as a backdrop to my great-grandparent's lives.
Considering family oral history is not a unique source -- you need to question why none of the "Boomers" ever heard of Tartaria when their Grandparents talked about their parents and their parent's lives. The reason is because it isn't true.

My face "recovered" in the sense I look ok "in person." In photographs, it's apparent that things are slightly off balance and the left side doesn't quite align with the right. My family says they can't figure out why it's so apparent in photos but not noticible "in person". But I am aware of it, and don't like to have my photograph taken for that reason.

I have never known a woman to go on the prowl for just sex. There might be one somewhere in the world, but I personally have never met one. Presumably, these girls believe they are in love and somehow or other got the impression they were loved in return before they became involved with these men.

Now -- I don't know about the girls you knew when you were young. But If the man had said, " I don't love you; I just want to have sex with you" -- how likely is it that the girl would end up a fornicator in the first place?

You're looking at it as if the sin is isolated from its attending factors.
Let's look at war. A soldier shoots an enemy who is bearing down upon him with a bayonet. Thou shalt not kill. But had he not shot the enemy; he would have been killed. There are attending circumstances. It's easier to spot in that instance.
But sin as far as I am aware -- never takes place without attending factors. And in cases of seduction and abandonment, it's lying.

Was she smart? Definitely not. I never thought the guy was trustworthy. I tend to judge people by their companions and he had sleazy friends. But she didn't like (or apparently trust) me -- so I didn't tell her to look at who he hung around with to get a clue who he really was deep down.
I am not quite the stone thrower when it comes to premarital sex. Sometimes it's family obligations (or objections) that need to be settled before the way is cleared for a marriage.
Sometimes it's a choice between a post grad professional education for the man or a newlywed apartment. Money only stretches so far.
Believe it or not, I've known women who were forced to delay nuptials because the "older sister" hadn't married and ethnic custom demanded the eldest must be settled first.
These sexual negotiations are settled between the couples involved and hopefully people are honest. It's only when someone makes promises they don't intend to keep that problems arise.
The end result are flocks of angry women who take out their aggression on every other man who subsequently comes into their life.
Men never "get" that as they play around with some girl they don't care about some other man is playing around with a girl they may eventually end up with -- and then they wonder why the women are the way they are.
This could be avoided if men would stop lying. I don't see why the concept is such a problem. Do you think men are incapable of being honest? Or that they are entitled to be dishonest?
I'm not young myself BUT I have noticed that people who retain "purpose" in life actually thrive and live longer. People who have no plan for retirement and just "putter" around seem to slip into Alzheimer's and cash in their chips much earlier. I've seen it time and again.
Rudy G. doesn't strike me as the type who wants to ramble around his garden planting morning glories. He'd go stark raving mad in a week. That's someone who thrives where the action is -- offer him the job again with a few reliable assistants to carry out the busy work and he will be content to carry on.
Where are these stolen works of art? Are they being added to the "private collections" of the elite? These are old and probably valuable. There should be an accounting of where they are being taken.
