The governors who won't call out the National Guard or ask for federal help are probably doing it for the.same reason they were prolonging the Covi-19 lockdown. To make Trump look bad and irritate people enough to vote him out in 2020.

There is a difference though -- because prolonging riots causes more deaths and property damage.

What constitutes malfeasance by a governor? And if it could be legally pursued, at what point could citizens engage legal representation to file suit?

Assuming citizens could file something along these lines (based on a governor's refusal to call in forces when existing peace keeping measures prove inadequate) -- could those grievously injured (by death of a family member or destruction of personal property) file a civil suit against the governor for compensation? I am wondering if the thought of personal liability might get these Democratic governors to stop playing games with other people's lives and possessions. If they presently enjoy some kind of immunity from personal suits-- could that be removed by executive order?

Just wondering here...trying to think of ways to end this horrible episode. And end it in a way that wouldn't give a mouse a cookie.

I read that in addition to passing a counterfeit $20 bill-- George Floyd apparently had two outstanding warrants for 2nd and 3rd degree murder. This wasn't on a news article -- but rather in a comment string of various people discussing him. If this were true -- it might explain why the police were treating him as a more hardened criminal. However, I am not sure how to go about checking this information out. I really don't know how how the person who was making this assertion knew about these supposed warrants.

It would be sadly ironic if all this rioting was over the death of someone who was himself suspected of causing the death of others.

All these celebrities are bailing out these rioters and It makes me wonder -- when a person put up bail for someone, do they also guarantee their behavior until their court appearance?

If not, perhaps it is time for a letter writing campaign to a sympathetic member of Congress. If these people are bailed out and go right back to rioting then I think the celebrities should be jailed for equal reaponsibility for any further acts of violence. After all, they put them back on the street. A bill to this effect might discourage this "bailing out" celebrity nonsense.

Can someone more knowledgeable than I explain the reasons why President Trump has chosen not to institute martial law?

It seems to me that cities are going goofy, the Supreme court has just violated the first amendment, and there is more than enough evidence to throw every Top Marxist Democrat in Gitmo.

The optics I presently see is a country that is going down the tubes...what is he waiting for? Presumably, he is commander in chief of the military.

I wonder if there is a lack of incentive for the rioters and arsonists to cease and desist because they assume that when they finally do decide to stop -- the federal government will step in with a hefty check to rebuild the area they destroyed.

Perhaps the time has come for someone in authority at the federal level to make a televised statement to the effect that whatever level of damage the rioters and arsonists inflict upon their communities will have to be repaired at their own expense.

If they realize they will have to pay to fix it themselves or be forced to live with it indefinitely-- they may decide to think twice before continuing.

And the federal government should not pay for cities that the inhabitants purposefully destroy themselves. If there is no policy about this-- there should be.

Are there any laws attaching additional penalties to people who cross state lines in order to riot, loot, commit arson, or bodily harm another person under the guise of political activism? If not, why not? It seems that " outsiders" who arrive to purposefully cause trouble should face additional charges.

Anger over someone's death is no excuse to loot or riot. However, it occurs to me that given the location of this event -- not all of the rioters and looters may have been native born Americans.

1. Can all the news footage of the rioting and be confiscated by the government ?

2. Maybe I watch too many procedural crime shows on television, but if there actually is software that could run still photos taken from video footage against DMV records could this be done to identify the looters and rioters?

3. If #2 isn't just a television fantasy, once these people are identified -- could this evidence be used to deport non native born citizens as undesirable aliens? And in the interests of fairness, throw native born citizens into jail for theft and damage to public property?

I don't know who this person is but the video on this Twitter account has Obama admitting he was born in Kenya and isn't a citizen. I have no idea where this was filmed or what group of people he is talking to. If this doesn't post the video see if you can go to the guy's Twitter account and see the video there. It seems fairly obvious to any intelligent person that the economy cannot survive a limitless lockdown. Each passing week exacerbates the collapse.

Considering this causes real hardship for the people of the states still closed -- the actions of the Democratic governors in response to the pleading of their citizens to reopen is actually insane. And I mean that literally. In addition, their choices are demonstrably peculiar (in terms of which businesses are considered essential and have been allowed to remain open).

Of course, I KNOW this is a political ploy, as does everyone else. But they will never admit it. In fact, they CAN NOT admit it.

In that case, I have a question. Since their actions appear "insane" and their choices of necessary businesses appear "demonstrably peculiar" -- isn't there any kind of law that would enable the citizens of these states to question the sanity of their governors and have them removed on that basis?

It would seem that if there is-- a case brought questioning the govenor's sanity would force him/her to attempt to defend an indefensible position. Too much evidence exists that a total lockdown is not necessary. In addition, the politician would have to explain how he expected the people in the state to survive with no income.

I sincerely doubt anyone would want to appear in court under those circumstances and would most likely capitulate before facing a sanity inquiry.

The next time these gentlemen decide to protest -- may I suggest something more visually potent? Bring your children with you -- the younger the better -- and have them carry signs that say, "Why does the governor want me to starve? Let my daddy (or mommy) go back to work". And also, "Why is the governor denying me an education?" Invite the news -- make it a HUGE "children's protest".

I have a feeling that would be far more effective in giving the governor of your state a cartload of bad publicity and embarrassment without giving the gun control crazies ammunition. No governor would ever be able to live down the sight of pathetic little children begging for their education and for their parents right to support them.

Since I, as an average person with no particular skills in politics can see this as an obvious state of affairs -- I wonder that others ( who are "in charge" and presumably attempting to bring criminals to justice) seem to think that given more time these people can be swayed.

At this point.-- I'd be inclined to say that if the reason nothing has been done yet is that they are waiting for population enlightenment-- they should remove that objective from consideration. If today's response to information is any indication these people will never learn. The patriots should just go ahead and do what needs to be done.

I was on the phone for several hours this evening with an old college friend. She called to tell me that her husband had passed away which, is a sad enough occurrence in itself. But it was the surrounding tale of the aftermath of his death that I wish I could somehow get to the Trump team -- but I don't know anyone in politics.

My friend is very grateful to President Trump -- for without the stimulus check -- she claims she would have been unable to have her husband's remains cremated.

He did not die of Covid-19, but rather unexpected natural medical causes which came up suddenly, progressed rapidly, and claimed his life within a matter of days.

I have never been responsible for arranging the aftermath of a death, so I have only her word on what occurred in regard to her husband.

It seems the Covid-19 made it impossible for her to access certain funds because she needed papers kept in a safety deposit box at the bank. It was inaccessable due to Covid-19. Other funds required her to produce her husband's death certificate which, apparently has not yet been issued due to a paperwork backlog. Due to short staffing -- it was not yet processed.

At the same time, the crematory demanded immediate payment before they would take care of her husband. She said she was beside herself, in tears, and had no idea how she would take care of this problem until the day's mail arrived with the stimulus check from President Trump. She said that, by God's grace the check was for the exact amount the crematory was demanding.

I listened to her relief and gratitude to the President for helping her to bury her husband. But I did think that it was rather strange that the check.matched the price of the cremation Almost as if the person running the place knew the exact amount those checks are being issued for and set his price accordingly.

I didn't say that to her. God knows she's been through enough these past few days.

But I do wonder if President Trump knows that In addition to Covid-19 making it difficult for people to live -- it's also making it difficult ( due to paperwork backlogs and closed banking facilities ) for people to care for their loved ones final needs.

I don't think she made this up because she was crying as she told me all of this -.so if.somebody knows a politician far enough up the ladder to get this news to President Trump -- please let him know that widows are having difficulty accessing their funds because of Covid-19 and the pricing of crematoriums conveniently matches the total amount of the stimulus check.

I really think the Republicans need to stay on top of this "mail in voting" the Democrats are trying to pull.

I suspect they are already setting up to steal the election. This morning my daughter received a "voter registration reminder packet" from the Democratic party in the state of Massachusetts.

We DO NOT live in that state. Whatsmore, she has been a registered voter since she turned 21 in our own state which, is a considerable distance from Massachusetts.

The question I have is how did they even learn of her, where she lived, etc.? And if they accessed this information from our state records, who gave them authorization to do so?

And wouldn't you think dems in our state would be doing their own searching for possible unregistered voters?
