Other than that, there was no real difference in the events. Both acted in self defense. We have seen protestors rip others out of their cars. The mob had surrounded James's car and pounded on it with clubs. He had no other way out.
Some may try to say that James Fields Jr. was a white supremacist, and even if true, it doesn't affect the fact that he was trying to defend himself. We can denounce his ideology while supporting his right to a fair trial, which he did not get.
