Peoples all over earth have marked, indicated, and evidenced, various forms of marriage, for millennia. And there is no reason to believe that the earliest evidence of it circumscribes the beginning of any of these institutions.

The earliest records of marriage coincide with the earliest records of writing. It's obviously even more poorly attested in areas that didn't develop writing of their own, but there are indications from these places and times, as well.
