For their hard work in writing the book, Hernstein & Murray were roundly PILLORIED in the press by WJC and his supporters. The (at the time only SUBTLY in-the-bag for the Democrats) lame-stream-media of the day went further, played the RACE CARD, and BURNED this book in effigy for WEEKS.
I only know about this because I was on my back, injured, for two weeks, and took the opportunity to READ THE BOOK ... and did so TWICE. What I saw in the book was a carefully and meticulously presented POPULATION BIOLOGY study of the heritability of Intelligence (presented as the genetic component "G") by the authors.
Therefore when I watched the WJC administration orchestrating their campaign to burn the book and lynch both authors, I was appropriately unimpressed. I mean, HOW WAS I TO KNOW that I was merely seized in the clutches of my own WHITE PRIVELEGE (screwed my back up delivering a PIANO for my employer) and was only brainwashed by minions of a SYSTEMICALLY RACIST culture.
...never mind I had worked my way through a premed degree in the 70's, without a dime from the government...working three jobs...more if you count doing odd-jobs (for which I filed all income and paid my taxes).
Their efforts to destroy and erase this book, and its authors clearly indicate clearly that today's situation blossomed before 1994 as a RICO operation.

(1) Their statement tacitly pulled the curtain aside on their opinion (highly-educated, very accurate opinion) of the true mortality rate of the SARS-2 CoV virus; and
(2) Explained their understanding of the mRNA vaccine's (a) efficacy, and (b) potential for negative side-effects.

I eventually completed a BS of Biology (premed) back in the '70's. During that time, I earned the tuition to do so working two jobs during the summers (sometimes 3), and one job through the school year, in a local hospital, on medical staff.
I recall a professor of microbiology came to have surgery once; as I was preparing him for the procedure (which would involve an incised opening of his abdomen) It became obvious that he was in a serious PANIC...thus deeply concerned... that the means of "sterilization" used at the incision site would leave his skin "perfectly sterile" before the incision.
After attempting to discuss the topic of "infectious dose" with him, it became obvious that this HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE MAN was still quite neurotically terrified of the possibility that EVEN ONE MICROBE could invade his body through this (admittedly scary) incision.
I spent the rest of MY portion of the pre-surgical preparation in crisis-reassurance mode. Here I am, an undergraduate, consoling a PhD microbiologist (who was later one of my profs) about his upcoming brush with the real world of microbiological technology. He underwent the surgery and recovered to live many years of continued, healthy life.
I went on to live my own life, having decided not to further pursue medicine. That's largely why today, I'm part of the "herd that's immune" to Socialist bullshit about medicine, microbiology and COVID-19.
I am confident that, one day, I'll die. And if by chance I make it into my 80's, then I'll most highly likely die of pneumonia. WHEN (if this is the case) this happens, I will have taken MY place in the roughly 70% of all such (over 80) deaths that are terminal pneumonia cases. Nobody will bother to look into determining just exactly WHICH of over 216 common cold viruses ultimately caused my death.
... TODAY, however, were I in my 80's & I happened to die of pneumonia, then SARS-CoV-2...would be the immediate, summary diagnosis...ending all debate.. THEN some government bureaucrat would provide compensation to the diagnosing authority, who "for hire" diagnosed my death as "COVID-19."
