I have over $120k in student debt. The thought of all-out forgiveness makes me want to puke. I will be able to pay off these loans I decided to take in pursuit of education BECAUSE the degrees are in economically-useful fields. I knew the debt burden going in, so I chose fields that would provide me the best return. It’s sad how this thought process is incomprehensible to the liberal peanut brain. Going to Yale for a gender studies or sociology degree needs to hurt the wallet of those who do something so fucking stupid.
As a side note, let’s make universities guarantee the loans of their students. If the university is on the hook for non-payment, perhaps they’ll be more judicious in how many people they allow into these hobbies disguised as degrees.

Yeah I wouldn’t say we’re “suffering”, but we’re definitely uncomfortable. Roads are icy, some grocery stores are shut down, water pipes are freezing, and power has been out for over 24 hours for some. It’s not as bad as it is up north, but it’s something we have never had to prepare for or deal with before.
Remember when there were deaths in Europe a few years ago during the heat wave? It’s the same thing, but opposite temperatures. People didn’t have the right equipment to weather a 100 year, record breaking heatwave, just like our infrastructure isn’t prepared for such extreme cold relative to historical averages.
I knew icy roads were coming last week, so I stocked up on food and water. Most didn’t make those preparations.
