The reason anyone stormed the Capitol on J6 was because of Mike Pence, and no one can prove it otherwise.

Can we get the mods to post this as an introductory welcome message shortly after signup?

It’s still Advent, brother.

Yes, extremely unpopular. God promised a messiah in the OT. So you’re saying one will never come?

Christ is king.

Yes. I am extremely curious to see the recruiting numbers. The accurate ones, not the bullshit ones that get released.

They won’t. She’ll be dead in three days. $30,000 is a bargain to signal your virtue.

The small amount is about 20g per day, about 5 teaspoons, which is about what’s in one can of Coke (39g total sugars).

Pre-WWI, the average fructose intake was this 20g/day. That was normal and sustainable, and we weren’t obese and riddled with heart disease and diabetes. Nowadays the average American eats 130g/day, which is not sustainable.

No, that isn’t true. Honey and table sugar are both fructose. Your body processes them both identically.

It is true that honey has antioxidants, which are good. I put honey in tea for that reason. But if you eat more than 20-30g of fructose (5-7 teaspoons) per day, regardless of source (sucrose, honey, or HFCS) then the bad effects begin to outweigh the good.

I was on almost an identical track, right down to the six cans of Coke a day. I was big and fat, and it seemed inevitable, I was just getting old—and there was no way I could quit sugar. And you’re right; sugar is shown in a lab to be more addictive than cocaine.

Then a few things happened. I came across an article in the NYT called “Sugar Season: It’s Everywhere and Addictive” (2014)

That pointed me to a lecture called “Sugar: The Bitter Truth” by Dr. Lustig.

And having been convinced that they were onto something, I sought a program that could get me onto an unsugared diet. I found one, an eight-week program called “Iquitsugar” with Sarah Wilson. https://iquitsugar.com/

And after a summer of following the recommendations I was down 30 pounds. And now I don’t even like sugar. I can taste it in everything, in ketchup, in bread. I can’t cook with it.

You can do it. Good luck, brother.

This is actually a good idea—voting via blockchain. There are ways to do it while preserving an anonymous vote. But I should be able to vote and then check that my vote was accepted and properly tallied. And we should have a forensic capability to investigate the results.

But it shouldn’t be the fucking post office running it ffs.

Gary Taubes and Dr. Lustig are also outstanding on the subject.

I am the same, I needed the carbonation and can’t drink plain water. But I found I love sparkling water (like Lacroix or Perrier).

Honey is not a good substitute for table sugar. They are both fructose.
