Yeah you would. Blanks can deafen, blind, or even kill depending on range. And you should have zero accidental discharges.

Also, witness statements:

“I was there when Rosanne Boyland was being trampled by the police. I was at the bottom of the steps in front of the hallway. Many people were screaming that a woman was being trampled by the police. I responded as fast as I could. I saw her lifeless body being crushed under the officers and hit with their batons. They were kicking her viciously. I acted to get them off her. I was maced. I still hear the cries for help. My memories of this hectic situation started effecting me much more after I found out that Rosanne did not make it. We didn’t save her. I’ve seen bodycam footage since then of a Trump supporter giving her chest compressions in the hallway as the police continue to attack the people who are there to save her (this happened about a minute after my involvement). As God as my witness this is the truth. The cops are even still striking her lifeless body with their batons and boots. These are the bodycam footages they are not releasing. I can send you bodycam footage of my involvement if you would like.”

“I was begging the Capitol police to stop pummeling people over on top of them, brutally beating protesters … I couldn’t let anymore people die in front of my face…I was trying to pull Roseann with all my might as she turned from purple to blue to white. The police kept knocking people all over her, she was at the bottom of the pile. I was frantically flailing my arms begging police to stop but the police kept pummeling. I couldn’t pull out Roseann but I am so thankful I was able to pull out Phillip.”

Because the Prop Masters Union said 1 bullet in their release.

You can kill with blanks, but you have to be very close, and I don't think he's that stupid.

Also that's not where "point blank range" comes from. Point Blank means "pointed at the blank center of the target" - IE: "so close you don't need to adjust for gravity, windage, relative motion, etc". Which all used to matter more when you were shooting cannons, where the phrase originated.

Yeah they changed a lot of practices after his death, and the ease/quality of CGI gunshots has also done a lot for gun safety on set.

For Brandon, they had a dummy bullet with a real primer (mistake #1) and no powder, and the primer pushed the bullet into the barrel. Without checking the gun (mistake #2) they then switched to blanks, and the blank propelled the bullet from the barrel into his spine, where the gun was aimed (mistake #3). With the camera angle, distance, etc he could have definitely aimed off to the side, but....

No criminal charges, but the filmmakers were sued for negligence and settled out of court.

So yeah, I agree. Baldwin basically had to be cavalier and negligent for something this tragic to happen.

There are blank-only guns that have barrels that bullets can't fit into, but if you want a specific revolver or something it's often easier to use real steel. Since there shouldn't be any real bullets on set, and you should never be pointing at people (they use camera tricks for those shots), it's not normally a risk.

You know they don't actually shoot blanks AT each other, right? It's a movie, and they use camera angles and special effects to tell a story that's not actually happening. You are never ever supposed to point a loaded gun - even with blanks - at anyone for any reason on set.

When it is unavoidable to point a weapon at someone, they use other weapons that are not capable of firing - even firing blanks - that look identical to the functional weapons.

To be fair they have "Blank Firing Adapters" on. Which is like a metal bolt that clamps into the barrel so you can't accidentally launch a shell casing fragment into another trainee. But if you accidentally get a live round in there instead of a blank, then people can get shot anyways.

Fun fact, the British version is designed to catch a round, so even if you mix a live round into the blanks it will save your ass!

The reports say that it was 1 bullet, went through the DP, killing her, and into the producer, who was already released from the hospital so it wasn't too bad.

But why was he aiming at them and pulling the trigger? They have strict rules to make sure nobody is flagged even with blanks, let alone shot at.

I check every gun I hand to / get from a friend, even if they're just giving it back to me a minute after I gave it to them. Good habit to have.

Went to a party at a friend's shop last night, had about 50 people from all walks of life (well, all the walks of life that would enjoy having a few beers in an old industrial garage), and nobody had a mask or even talked about 'Rona.

And this was a blue city in a blue state with a mask mandate. I think people are finally over it.

It appears he didn't know he had a live round, but why he pointed the gun at people and pulled the trigger has not been revealed.

Or the propmaster wanted baldwin to kill someone. Eitherway, criminal intent or criminal incompetence.

Halyna Hutchins is the woman who died, she was a cinematograpger (director of photography - in charge of the camera and light crews)

Joel Souza was also injured, he was the overall director.

My semi-researched guess is Amphetamines. Lots of long-term stuff, memantine and various inhibitors, but when they need a short term boost for an event like this I'm pretty sure it's amphetamine.

There are subtler options like piracetams, epinephrine, etc.... but Biden is past the point where a minor nudge could do the trick, he needs the heavy hitters and amphetamine is will-understood, relatively safe (when used in therapeutic doses), and effective.

And clenching is a side effect. Usually jaw but doesn't have to be limited to that.

That said, if we have any pharmacists who have a different theory feel free to chime in.

NGL it's not a great name for a social media network, and it goes doubly so for the pravda connection. That said a meh name falls far short of being a disaster and the downfall of nations....

I'm calling for a complete ban on assault ropes, and common-sense rope control bills for utility ropes, including licensing, mandatory background checks, a 7 day cooldown period, and limits on the number of ropes purchased in a short amount of time.

It sounds like we're basically in agreement then, and there's nothing to be done now other than prepare for coming storm.

To whatever fed is reading this, this is who you're gonna have to kill. People like Slav and I who just want to be left alone to lead a healthy life with their family. I encourage you to rethink your career and do what you can to help America escape the fate it's being lead down.

If armed revolution is the only option why aren't you out there shooting? If it's not the only option, what are the other options?
