Right you are. That's why I said "We The Living" is a good book and beats out "The Fountainhead" (which I have read) and the tome of which is "Atlas Shrugged" (I haven't read). The Fountainhead was already a plethora of superflous words. We The Living does not come across as preachy.
In my opinion, "We The Living" while fiction, the backdrop and events thereof might be realistic but in when the events take place aren't hyper-accurate, but Ayn Rand's basic premise of her philosophy is sound.
Kind of like people taking the piss out of YouTuber Sargon of Akkad for wanting to make a group "Liberalists" and what are the "Liberalists"? "Oh they're individualists against collectivism!" I know he caught a lot of flak for that and the name is dumb but I don't follow along (Sargon or any of the former Gamergate veterans anymore).
Started reading Gulag Archipelago last week. I'm on pg. 256, after the part where the USSR POWs were thrown into gulag regardless of situation.
If anyone is interested in anti-collectivist/authoritarian works:
Animal Farm & Nineteen-Eighty Four by George Orwell
Looking like The Gulag Archipelago is real from what I've read so I'm going to recommend that as well. A. Solzhenitsyn.
We The Living by Ayn Rand, not really specifically about Soviet Russia per se but uses the setting & circumstances and the fact that the author escaped from there. The later books of this author, IMO, are sort of... fluffy rot with lots of words. We The Living got the job done pretty well and in a less preachy way. One person's opinion.
Are you kidding me? My mother went to get outpatient imaging today and as soon as you walk in some mid-level administrator was asking us if we had cough, fever, etc and if we've been out of the country in the last 30 days or been in contact with anyone who has been...
I signed my name "Donald Trump" and went to go run some errands on foot.
Megadeth has got the killer riffs and technique. They're in my top 10 of all-time, along with Black Sabbath and Rush. If you haven't heard Megadeth before, do yourself a favor and listen to Peace Sells front to back right now! Then mosey on over to the Rust In Peace album.
Right? The people who make Corona, are they publically traded or their parent company? If so, I wonder what their stocks look like before and after Kung Flu. Everyone calling this "Corona" is simply trying to destablize this particular brand of Mexican beer because they're bigots! Shame on them! They're all white liberal hipsters that drink PBR anyway, with a chaser of soy.
The older ones didn't even have Common Core curriculums to blame.
To self fact-check, all was needed to do is first the ability to question the statement and secondly just reduce the number "Does that make sense? If I had a $1,000, I could give 100 people $1,000 dollars? No... that's wrong, that doesn't make sense. Whoops!"
You would need to be able to self-reflect and a sense of humor, specifically to be able to make fun / light of one's self. Most of them don't seem to possess that quality from what we've seen. Leftists go for hystronics, faulty thinking, and this quickly elevates to violence. It's ugly. It's why MSM and late-night "commedians" in the past were not speaking about Antifa at all or saying "Well, they're ANTI-FACISTS AKCTUALLY!!!1"
I didn't know that, damn, that sucks. Mixed feelings. My favorite out of the Big 4 is definitely Megadeth followed by Slayer. I've got a dozen Megadeth albums in my library and I've got four Slayer albums. Needs more Anthrax, though. \m/
Upvoted you. Israel is pretty much the only ally in the region but if you think they don't subvert us in various ways, well, that's pretty naive.
The United States is like a big gravy train and everyone wants to try and steer it to go their way.
How about in the somewhat near future .win gilds like Deddit? Unless there is a shill-abuse potential I'm not seeing... as for the rewards, pinning gilded comments near the top of the chain and they don't have to be badges, they can be bronze, silver, gold BRICKS along with some others. Gold brick with party poppers makes a somewhat annoying one-shot animation when browser gets to it on the page sprinkling confetti down on the page.
I love these Obama-O'Rourke (wait who is that again?)-Swallowswell type frenzy buys. They end up accomplishing the exact opposite of what they wanted in one area while trying to gain political points in another unrelated area.
Firearm Salesman Of The Month: Irresponsible MSM
It's been three days but also, might need more mods to deport the shills, cucks, and leftists who come here to try to demoralize. Very disrespectful and sad!
I also agree about discontinuing the reddit terminology, I respect Aaron Swartz but "Reddit" is simply a forum in classical sense of posts and sub-forums, that sort of thing. I agree with your original post, though. Imagine subforums for pedes or patriots supporting patriots, patriot dating, et cetera...
Those people need to step it the hell up. Lots of Solzhenitsyn's text in the first volume so far have been from personal anecdote to history of political prisoners of the Czar to experience in various gulag.
Certain bibles are about 1200 pages long, aren't they?
One could read the abridged version of Gulag Archipelago, sure. There are other literary works to read and to understand.
I am of the opinion that we need people to be educated in what the past held and what potentially the future can hold. Eternal vigiliance, you know?
