I was there on the 12th of dec. They had 30+ square blocks closed to traffic, which means a lot of walking. Download the lyft/lime apps to ride the scooters around DC. They're everywhere. Fully charged and left all over for a ride/sharing type thing. You put your CC in, wave the app next to a scooter and pay as you go. Ubers can't get into the closed city blocks, so i'd recommend using them. not sure about the subway. there weren't any stops near the hotel we stayed out, so we took ubers to get close to the events, then walked 6-8 blocks to the action.
