I wonder if they understand just how dangerous all of this is. You have people isolated and out of work for a year, and now tech giants, the media, and the government are all going out of their way to completely silence a big chunk of the country, and even unperson the president of the United States. Make people feel angry, helpless, and without a voice. I couldn't have come up with a better recipe for destabilizing a country if I tried.
I'm just an outsider looking in, but the fact that you don't have voter ID laws across the country makes the whole election a joke. Having a transparent and secure election process should be a requirement for a state to have any say at all. You absolutely should have to vote in person with ID, whether you vote early at town hall or at the polling station on election day. If you're abroad in the months leading up to the election you'll have to go through the embassy in the country you're in if you want to vote. Mail-in ballots are trash. Reform to secure the election in every single state. If that's too much to ask, then I don't see why it's in the interest of any sane state to remain in the union at all.

I don't understand the chain of events here. Are federal agents usually involved when arresting suspected murderers, or were the local PD reluctant to arrest him and Trump pulled some strings?

You know, in a country of 350 million you could probably find a couple of actually racially motivated murders if you wanted to. I'm starting to believe they choose to blow up these meme stories precisely because they won't hold up in court. Run with story that looks bad on the surface, omit or under-report counterevidence, and blame institutional racism when the defendant walks.
This is gonna be a tricky one. The killings were self-defense and justifiable, but it doesn't appear he had the legal right to be there, technically being a minor crossing state lines with a weapon and all. Have a feeling this could be a huge legal battle.
