Don’t get me wrong, I’m indelibly attached to Afghanistan as well. It showed me a lot about humanity, including my own. I’m a DUSTOFF medic who picked up dead Americans. Every time I picked up a wounded American off the battlefield it made me hate it more. For those who have seen war, like it seems you have as well, we shouldn’t wish more of it on others when there is no reason to sacrifice more lives.
