I think you are partly right, but not entirely.
I think they will see where the wind vane is pointing and determine at the time what position is the most tenable.
I think it’s plausible they will think it’s in their best interests to actually go with the truth.
Honestly I think a lot of people are going to wait and see who appears to be the eventual winner and they’ll make the decision based on that. I’m talking about State Legislatures, State secretary of states, Governors, pundits, the DOJ, the FBI, etc.
