All the depression-era patriots who I knew as a kid still had massive gardens and not for the fun of it. You need a large variety of heirloom seeds, so you can let a portion go to seed every year, and re-plant from those. People are going to need food. People are going to try to steal your food. Millions of Americans are going to starve to death. Don't be one of them.
