Usually this secession talk is eye roll material, but the good tech companies are all moving to Texas. The layout of Texas is ideal to become its own country. Huge seaboard, lots of space, oil, power, and touches 4 states. All of the major highways centralize to the Dallas/Fort Worth area which would make it the obvious capital. Still just an idea right now, but if it somehow happened, I think they are setup to be able to provide a reasonable defense against an invasion, barring nukes and biological warfare of course.
