Aunt Tifa is always a bit slow on the uptake because there's no 'push' in their command and control; it's all based on people manually going and getting new orders.
So, give it a few days for the money to circulate, new posters to be made and hung in head shops, and the new instructions to filter through to those smooth brains before the mob turns to burning churches or something.
I really think it falls to two points:
The Democrats want power.
The Republicans want money.
So the former pays off the latter and both are happy - until GEOTUS comes along and flips a table... Then everyone agrees to "Fuck that guy in particular".
Reminds me of the instant messenger wars; where everyone you knew was on some other platform that was always the best thing since sliced pre-wrapped peanut butter and whatever you were using sucked.
At one point I had a second monitor just to display all of the IM clients required to keep in touch with folks. :)
