If a mask protects you from COVID, then those with COVID should not be quarantened, right? Or if someone has COVID, and a mask prevents others from getting it, then they still could just wear a mask and not quarantene.

Sheep can not explain away this logic. Ultimately, if you asked most people, they wear masks because they are afraid of what will happen to them if they don't (either health wise, or being shut down/excluded from shopping).

My take for what its worth:

Some liberal states have said they will not fully open without a vaccine. So Trump gives them a vaccine, so they have two options: 1. Acknowledge the vaccine exists and open up, or, 2. Come up with another reason to keep the lockdowns going.

Its like Trump letting Antifa burn liberal cities. Let them keep burning, or acknowledge its a problem. Trump is showing us these choices are political and not based on resources available.
