Looks like I have a big split with the sentiment here. If someone immigrates to this country because they love it and want to be part of it. There are first generation Americans that love this country more than leftists. You cannot possibly compare the love that Cuban immigrants have for the US to the hate that Silicon Valley assholes have for it.
Yes. Spanish is a gendered language, but because white college kids can't see past their own bubble, they don't understand that grammatical gender is not the same as biological gender, sexual orientation, or anything else they might imagine. It is it's own thing. The only way to appreciate that though, is by actually speaking with a native speaker - which is beyond them.
Latinx is not a word. We hate it, we don't use it. A study found something like only ~20% of Latinos have even ever heard of it (it's a predominantly white college kid thing), and only 3% actually use it. When I see someone use Latinx I know they are not being genuine.
