There are sinful people and people in spiritual error everywhere. God told us that the eyes of the Jews would be closed for a time, and then one day they would see. This all serves His purpose, and the Jews have been central to God's plan and will be again. Jewish people aren't the only ones who can be afflicted with a malignant type of pride, and there's a reason the evil one is bent on destroying them. People all over are deceived in various ways. Religion, that is to say all the rituals and dogmas created by men, is a favorite tool of the evil one, not just the religions that deny Christ but the ones who claim to speak for Christ too.
