The cases narrative is making me crazy. Inslee just tightened restrictions this week in Washington because of cases. The cases have been sitting at 5% positive for weeks. The best false positive rate estimate I can find on RTPCR is 4%. This means that we will never have less than 4% positive, even if the Wuflu just ceased to exist. I feel like I am taking crazy pills.

The very first Americans that died were from those nursing homes in Washington state. Purposely putting COVID patients in nursing homes at any point after that is unforgivable.

This is just so sad to me. I live in Seattle. It is a beautiful city, in a beautiful state, with amazing weather, and one of the best locations in the world for the work I do. Unfortunately, the people here are batshit crazy. Every day I contemplate moving back to the midwest, with the mosquitos and the humidity and the bad winters and the lack of work in my field, but at least the people are decent.
I'd love a suggestion of a conservative university that had a decent Comp Sci or biomedical program.
