I think the Pequot Massacre was the one when the settlers were told by neighboring Narragansetts that the Pequots were going to attack settlers. The Narragansetts led the settlers to their village and waited outside the fort. Settlers went in and killed, but any Pequots that were able to escape were chased down in the woods by the Narragansetts.
Pequots and Narragansetts resented each other, the boundary of territory was in present day central CT, and was always being contested. A common tactic of the Natives was to use the military might of the English settlers to indict harm and terror on their other Native enemies.
Native American history, tribalism in it's purest form, is generally lost on these people
