I've been thinking about this for a while, and to be honest I think boycotting using youtube is a wasted effort. youtube doesn't get money per view exactly, it gets money from advertisers using their site and selling analytics data to marketting companies.
The best course of action would be to boycott companies that work with google/youtube instead, while still draining youtube's coffers by using their services.
