The man was out playing ball with his daughter. I can guarantee that most any father who was getting accosted in front of his child for merely taking them into a large open space around no other people and being a good dad would get a little pissed off.
This guy did not have to show anyone ID, and he had every right to be outside with his kid.
Unjust laws are no laws at all.
Neutral. At this point, I don't think it's a great idea to shunt the kids back into school when they've been off for weeks and the school year is so close to ending, but some parents really need help. It's kind of a lose/lose no matter which way you go, because everyone has been so screwed over at this point that nothing is going to 100% help until they start moving things back to normal and jobs start coming back.
Who knew Hulk Hogan was so based. If you actually read the full article, it seems he was just spitting some wisdom on getting your priorities straight. I hate our current culture of dissecting every word someone says/posts to find things that are outside the permitted narrative so that they can be publically shamed and shunned. What happened to having loopy eccentrics or people who had out-of-the-box opinions, or even just asking fair questions? We're living in a new puritanism.
Bless this dude, hope he heals up from his bicep injury and keeps chugging along for many years to come.
There's nothing lower than trying to tear down someone who is genuinely going out of his way to help other people. Stuff like this just makes me sick.
My husband is a history teacher. Very based, loves dropping little redpills where he can, and everyone is so happy to see a man in the field for once. It's sad how few male teachers there are.
Amen!
Thanks for the genuine lol.
Hoes mad.
No shit, dude.
In my teen years, I thought my dad was a little nuts with his obsession with FEMA camps and the stripping of our liberties in the wake of 9/11. I have never fully trusted government and was open to giving most "conspiracy theories" a fair hearing and consideration. But I thought he was getting too wound up about it, like this stuff could never actually happen in the USA.
He was right, but his timeline was wrong. Sorry dad.
Yup. This is either the biggest case of mass hysteria and media overreach in the history of humanity, or there is something about this virus that is not being made public. My pet theory is that perhaps there are long term health effects (possibly respiratory issues) which may afflict people who have been infected down the line, but I don't know.
All I know is that this is the most bizarre experience I have ever had in my life. We've all had our basic freedoms taken away, people are losing thier jobs and livelihoods, and everyone is acting like it's all normal. Really disconcerting.
Those who value safety over liberty deserve neither.
The mustard plaster is a really cool idea, I had never heard of that one but it should be effective in clearing congestion due to the volatile oils in mustard which would aid in clearing mucus - just like eucalyptus or peppermint oil.
In the case of hives - offhand, I do not, at least not for treating the allergic reaction. A baking soda paste will help with the irritation and may reduce the swelling of your hives. Calamine lotion is good too.
If you drink stinging nettle infusion (basically a strong tea) and try to get local raw honey into your diet (the local part is important because it will contain small amounts of the pollen local to your area which may be what you're reacting to, and the raw part is important because pasteurization kills everything in the honey which renders it inert) it may help to reduce allergic reactions if your issue is with a plant in the area.
I am still learning myself, so I don't have all the answers, but I hope that can help a bit and good luck to you!
This is probably the problem... I was raised in California and am now in Texas, so it's been an adjustment in the cuisine department.
Good luck with your asparagus! I've heard there's nothing better than garden fresh asparagus, so good on you growing your own.
Thank you so much! I'll try this out tonight.
You're doing things right, my man. May WuFlu pass over your household!
Thank you! I've been boiling them but the results haven't been great, I just need to up my game I suppose.
I can't wait to move back out to the country. City living rots the soul. I need open nature.
Dummies still haven't mastered the art of making their own laundry detergent.
Hey, can you help a sister out? I have some artichokes I need to eat but whenever I prepare them somehow they don't turn out the way I remember them when I was a kid, so I'm probably screwing them up somehow. How do you cook your artichokes?
Very good advice 'pede!
As someone who is very interested in herbal medicine here are a few other suggestions of things you may have on hand that can help:
Chamomile tea, mint tea (of any kind), both with honey added. Whiskey, honey, and lemon is a classic mix that soothes the throat nicely.
If you have fresh ginger root or cinnamon stick on hand, you can decoct them (boil them) together (or separately, if you only have one or the other) covered for 40 minutes. Sip small amounts of this, as much as is tolerated, with honey. It will help with the sore throat as well as boost her immune system.
Look for elderberry syrup, which will probably be sold out but it never hurts to check if you're in the store anyway.
And finally, if she can handle it: eat some raw garlic. It's antimicrobial and beneficial to immune function, so can help her fight off whatever is making her throat sore. I find the easiest way to get it down is on buttered bread, or on cheese and crackers. Whatever helps her to actually eat it, but it has to be raw as cooking destroys the chemical constituents of garlic which are helpful.
Avoid sugary foods as they actually suppress the immune system. I know honey is sugary but it is negligible in the amount one would use in tea.
You're ready for Saint Patrick's day then!
Not so, chief. Down here in South Texas everyone is just as retarded as the rest of the union, and the stores have been cleaned out for a while. I have several kids so I was already stocked on food and haven't seen much of the situation, but apparently things are just now starting to not be totally empty in the stores.
My parents lived near San Francisco for a time, and I visited them and the city about five years before things got really bad. I'm saddened by everything I've seen coming out of there in recent years because it was a beautiful city, and I had looked forward to taking my kids there one day.
Exactly what I was going to say. It's all calculated to try and inflict as much damage as they can.
