Libs love to point out the environmental cost of producing agricultural goods (such as raising cattle) in metrics of "gallons of water used" and "tons of CO2 and methane released"... but only rarely do they mention the environmental cost of manufacturing and building. The massive building scheme tacked onto the Green New Deal would, by their own metrics, cause far more "indirect environmental harm" than it can alleviate in a decade. Battery production necessitates mining, steel refining requires lots of fossil fuels, industrial equipment cannot run on completely renewable resources, etc. When democrats talk about dismantling and rebuilding infrastructure for the sake of the environment, there are a multitude of indirect environmental costs associated with their pious CO2 emission reduction crusade. JUST LET THE PRIVATE SECTOR WORK THIS ONE OUT AND SIT BACK DOWN.
