Trump isn't all powerful. If nobody else is willing to do the right thing then what can he do? In theory he has tremendous power, but it all relies on the people beneath him following orders, doing their jobs, and the system working as intended. Nothing I've seen suggests that the United States is still a nation of law and order.

The worst is probably the generation that decided we had to start getting involved in foreign wars. Once we started we've never been able to stop. This addiction to war/conflict and the power and influence it brings has been our undoing as a culture even as it's enriched and empowered us.
A close runner up would be the boomers and their penchant for doubling down on the worst mistakes America has ever made. They expanded the welfare state, increased foreign intervention, established and expanded bad trade deals, weakened the 2nd, sacrificed our Southern border for slave labor, sent all of our industry away after their regulations created artificial labor shortages, made regulatory capture into an art form, etc. Actually, yeah... The boomers were the worst so far.
I can't even imagine how much better the world would be today if they had never existed.
