As true America patriots and the only opposition in this country to socialism and communism, this handout is diametrically opposed to our movement, but maybe it shouldn't be.
We believe in fair play and oppose unjust taxes and government intervention in the financial success or failure of individuals and businesses. Yet, that idealist world has never existed for one segment of America. The ruling class. There's no longer any denying that they exist. A collective of wealthy elite in positions of finance, politics, and industry from around the world that decide how our country will be run. They've never been held to our standards and they're also the ones holding all the levers of power. For decades they've sucked the blood out of the American economy. Their businesses always receive special considerations. Exemptions from rules. Subsidies in the form of free/reduced utilities, tax reductions, literal handouts, federal grants, etc. As individuals, they're provided endless opportunities to avoid taxes while cashing fat checks from the government.
In the context of Covid, things are even more lopsided. The most wealthy corporations and institutions received the most federal relief, in spite of being the least impacted by Covid restrictions. At times when all small businesses were closed, they remained open. When the feds started handing out pallets of cash, they were first in line while small businesses were told that the cash had run out. Just look at the stock market. Nearly every major corporation in America is having an amazing year! All of their competition has been crushed and the government even paid them to watch it happen!
So, just before Christmas, we're looking at a stimulus check for $600 dollars per person. We've watched all year as the wealthy get ever wealthier as we get crushed. It's nothing, a drop in the bucket compared to the harm done by Covid restrictions. It's nothing compared to the handouts and exemptions provided to massive corporations and special interests. It's our money. We paid it to the government. Now, we have an opportunity to get some of it back. It won't even come close to evening the playing field, but it's a step towards restoring balance and fairness. So, when Trump says he wants $2000 dollars per person, we should support him.
TL;DR We already paid the government this money. They've been handing it out to corporations and financial interest groups all year. Refunding some of it to us isn't just necessary, it's a step towards restoring balance and fairness.
WARNING GEOPOLITICS AHEAD
Ethiopia is in a civil war right now that's destabilizing the region. The Northern region of Ethiopia was recently kicked out of federal politics in some extremely backhanded bullshit, not unlike what we're witnessing here. As a result and under threat of ethnic cleansing, they're resisting and part of the military is on board. Why does this matter? Because Ethiopia want to build a hydroelectric dam in Northern Ethiopia, on their branch of the Nile River, where the conflict is. If this dam is build it endangers Egypt's, already critical, water supply. We're about to give a BILLION dollars to Egypt's military. Sudan, the primary vector for supplies in and out of landlocked Norther Ethiopia just got 700 MILLION. Sudan is sympathetic to Northern Ethiopia and doesn't want the dam either. THEY WILL SUPPLY THE RESISTANCE IN ETHIOPIA. Behind all this is Turkey, who wants the dam built to put pressure on Egypt, who they're currently competing with over a huge under sea oil deposit in the Mediterranean Sea. Israel and Saudi Arabia are also building an overland route through their territory to undercut the Suez canal and kick Egypt in the nuts. Egypt is highly fucking motivated to defend itself from these very real existential threats.
OTHER interests in the area include the increasingly massive fucking Chinese military presence in Djibouti, larger than all other international military presences combined. Which is a big fucking deal because Djibouti controls the Strait of Hormuz (the narrow exit point from the into the Indian Ocean). MANY foreign nations have military presence there. It's also the primary port via which supplies pass in and out of the land locked Ethiopia and will be critical in supporting Ethiopia in its coming conflict with Egypt. Let's not forget that China IS THE ONE FUNDING THE FUCKING DAM!
SEE THE FUCKING PROBLEM PEDES!? We're gearing up for another fucking proxy war with boots on the ground to follow.
I'm tempted pedes.
