Some thoughts:
- Article 88 applies to cadets and midshipmen as they are both active duty and classified as "officers" based on the fact that they are appointed to the academies by politicians or delegating laws passed by Congress. Back in the 1980s, at least, this fact was important enough to be hammered into them at induction and multiple times per year thereafter.
- Varsity athletes of major sports at the academies are recruited regionally since there is practically no way to sway some high-school superstar bound for the professional leagues. Back in my day, the athletic recruits were appointed from the Vice President's rubber stamp, so most of USMA's star athletes were from Long Island, New York.
- The military was onboard with full-blown political correctness by the mid-1980s, 35 years ago. The boomer Vietnam vets who came of age during the civil rights movement were starting to reach flag rank and were taking charge, The "soft bigotry of low expectations" was official policy in terms of both race and sex. Athletic departments jumped at the chance to recruit, retain, and graduate athletes under this rubric.
- Superstar athletes at the service academies are just as exalted and immune to rules as superstar athletes from regular colleges and universities who actually make money for their institutions. The NCAA's claim to "amateur" athletics is bogus as fuck. As somebody who roomed with a football player twice and saw what he went through in the program, fucking pay them already.

We know that the number of COVID deaths were overstated because the medical and public health industrial complex reported deaths as coronavirus-related regardless of comorbidities or even positive tests in many cases.
We know that the initial surge of deaths in the beginning was caused by faulty treatment protocols, specifically premature intubation and avoidance of immunosuppressive drugs at later stages.
We know what the angel-of-death governors did to nursing homes because Florida's Secretary of Healthcare explicitly prohibited release of COVID-positive seniors into nursing homes over the objections of hospital administrators who wanted to discharge these patients because they lose money on Medicare inpatients who are only convalescing.
We know that big pharma and their minions in leftard politics and media conducted unrestricted jihad against HCQ as a preventative which evolved further to attack ivermectin and dexamethasone. All three of those drugs are widely available, well understood, and cheap.
