In all of the known Universe, Christian theology teaches there is only One God. That's monotheism. Mormon's believe in many gods. That's polytheism.

Joseph Smith was a liar and killed in a gunfight. He was a false prophet, attacked the Christian Church, made up the stories about Golden Plates, and kicked off a movement that sadly is leading countless souls into Eternal Damnation.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and God the Son. He is not a created being. Joseph Smith was a liar and false prophet. God the Father is not a created being either.
Committed Mormons are generally very nice people, no question of that. But the will not look at the evidence showing the corrupt roots of their founders because their leaders will not allow them to.
None of this is "complicated" about what the Bible actually teaches. It is only the cults who complicate it through their false teachings. Many people have left Mormonism, only to be ostracized and "disfellowshipped".
