They will try, that much is certain, but they won't be able to contain such information without first containing us. It must frustrate them to no end to watch us flat out rejecting their agenda over and over again.. I'd argue we're already at the point where we're too powerful, we just haven't come to terms with it yet. What will set us free is knowledge of our limits - where ours end and God's begin.
I like what you are saying but it's not entirely true. Many digital soldiers are best suited at being just that. Platforms like td.win do not materialize by showing up somewhere - it's kept alive by hundreds of soldiers constantly fanning and feeding the embers. I think they are terrified of what will happen to them if they can't control how and when the singularity occurs. Something as simple as; what power will they have over a working class Jane if she's equipped with a Watson type AI lawyer at all times looking after her best interests?

Yes but that's a nightmare scenario for them more than us. If they do not get to control when and how the singularity comes about they are doomed, that's why we can not allow them to control anything, ever again. Post singularity is going to be screwy enough as is without their constant meddling.
