Let's say, for instance, that Wyoming, in a burst of amusing brilliance, officially illegally "adopts" all the citizens of all the other countries on Earth as their "non-voting, absentee population." This would then add 7.4 billion new citizens as Wyoming "absentee residents" without the rights or privileges of citizens.

Wyoming would then, amusingly, have about 380of the 538 electoral college votes in the US, (every state is guaranteed 3) and would carry every Federal election all by themselves.

California is counting non-citizens in order to take electoral college votes from other US states, how can they complain if Wyoming does it better?

I wonder how fast the screaming from blue states for laws restricting voting to legal citizens would start?

[EDIT] Holy Crap People. This is a shitpost, and, more than that, I clearly indicate that these people would be a "non-voting, absentee population." Stop Akshually-ing!

Most of us agree that Voter ID is a good thing in real world elections. While the voting here isn't really an election, it is good to know you are dealing with people who are honest.

Let anyone create a account so they can read stuff here.

But if you want to PM, post, or vote, then you have to pay the site $2.00, and the site will refund that $2.00 minus any transaction fee that they have to pay.

This essentially associates a real person with a credit card account, or at least a disposable card purchase, similar to voter ID. Sure, you can buy disposable credit cards, but that's more work - AND it is possible that those disposable cards will not allow refunds to be processed back onto the cards, so we might even be able to stop those (with care to document that TheDonald.win is not responsible for returning funds if the card does not allow returns, or if the cost of return is higher than the charge.)

It's not perfect, but it will stop most low-energy Leftists.

It's also not perfect if you are a highly private person who doesn't want to give out any private information to anyone or any company on the internet.

Maybe we could add in something for grandfathered accounts?

I'd be willing to pay a couple bucks to validate myself, even if I didn't get the money back.

What do you folks think?

Unfortunately I'm not good enough to make a custom sort of meme to illustrate, but if someone wants to run with it, I'd love to see what happens!

Russia has been angling to take a bite out of Ukraine since 2003. In 2014, in a thinly-veiled land grab, Russia took control of Crimea, which is a very important strategic piece of land for Russian interests. The international community has never accepted the annexation. There is still unrest, and the Ukrainians want their land back. But... Nobody but the Ukrainians and Russians are willing to fight for it right now.

So, how is all that related to corruption involving relatives of US officials? It's really pretty simple, if you strip away all the fancy words and look at the bare-bones truth.

Ukraine is AFRAID. They can't stop the Russians if the Russians get serious and decide to take them over. They don't have the OFFICIAL political connections and treaties to protect themselves through alliances and agreements with the US or the EU. If they had those connections, Russia would have backed off their illegitimate annexation, or larger powers would be fighting on Ukraine's behalf.

So, what's a small country rich in natural resources supposed to do when they don't have the political power to save themselves?

They BUY friends. Powerful friends.

The Clintons, Bidens, and Pelosis. One who they expected to be President, the other who was a Vice President, a third who was the ranking leader of the Democrats in the US House. There are rumors about others, and I'm sure there are more. Some of them are likely Republicans.

So, from our point of view, there was a whole lot of Quid Pro Quo going on. Ukraine was paying enormous amounts of money to powerful US politicians in return for goodwill. Even if those politicians would not agree to push Russia out of land they already took, they could be counted on to make a significant effort to protect the golden goose that was feeding them or their families all that easy money!

TLDR; Ukraine was bribing US politicians directly or through family connections, as an attempt to save themselves from the Russians. This ALSO explains why Putin wanted Hilliary to lose the last election. So all that money Ukraine spent to buy her influence as US President would have been wasted.

THAT is why Ukraine seems to be a hotbed of corruption. Ukraine isn't on the side of the Democrats, or Republicans. Ukraine is on their own side, and they are fighting to survive. They don't give a shit about rules and laws in the US. They will buy as much power as they can find for sale with the money they have available, because they don't have the raw political connections to survive. They have nothing to lose as a nation.

Instead of simply "HOT" as one of the banner buttons, why not have "HOT 1" for today's hot posts, "HOT 2" for two days hot posts, "HOT 5", "HOT 30" and "HOT FOREVER" tabs for different timeframes?

Also, I returned today after about 8 hours away and the current hot page is almost exactly what it was last night. It might be good to tweak the "hot calculator' to downcycle posts a bit quicker to get fresh content to the top.

I know, I know, you guys want us to look at new content, but, to be honest, I normally work 70-80 hours a week as an owner operator truck driver. I don't have a lot of downtime on most days to really dig into new content.
