I go out to walk my dog in California. I see other people out walking. 9/10 are wearing masks. They're outside, nobody is around (like really nobody). It's not a common area for strolling, so there's nobody around. People passing on bicycles wearing masks. Young healthy people by themselves wearing masks. People driving by themselves wearing masks. Californian's love wearing masks. They LOVE masks. People walking by themselves wearing masks who literally cross the street to go around me and my dog because I'm not wearing a mask outside by myself with nobody around. The place is a joke. And that's just one of the infinite reasons why I moved to Texas last year (but unfortunately still have to spend a lot of time in Commiefornia). Californian's are stupid fucking sheep who gulp-down their propaganda and obey.

Came here to say this. I think it was done on purpose. The "survival rate" percentage sounds large (especially for the 70+ crowd). Back last summer, before the election, I had a theory that they released COVID to scare the elderly into staying home on election day. Seniors vote in more consistent numbers and they vote more conservative. I thought the Dems had done the math and figured they could keep enough reliable conservative senior voters home and scared to win. Maybe that was plan A and when it didn't work they went to plan B (outright ballot dump cheating).

We're not talking about electrical draw for a single home, it's the whole grid. Yes there are some things running at night, but it's a fraction. EV charging occurs in the wee off peak hours when rates are lowest. Yes you plug in when you get home but the chargers are smart and schedule the charging to actually start in the dead of night when the utility has low rates....cause there's nobody using it.

Some of what he said is true. But the one thing he got wrong is the power draw from electric cars overwhelming the grid. 90% of all EV charging occurs at night when there is virtually no power draw from other electrical loads to compete with. Cold and degradation are issues but not as much as Scotty is making them sound like. Love them or hate them EV's are the future.
