Prove this please. Show me one governor of any party who deliberately caused death in order to justify a lockdown?
The fact is that many/most governors who have ordered lockdowns are going to face real challenges getting reelected largely due to the unpopularity of their handling of the pandemic response.
It is absolutely a real thing. Only a fucking moron would pretend that it is not.
Trump is vaccinated, so are Melania and Ivanka. Why the fuck would they get vaccinated if this was all a hoax, presumably designed to weaken the Trump presidency and push him from office?
Good lord, he’s reading a quote and asking a question about that quote. The guy has a lot of issues but pretending those were his words because he quoted someone else during a hearing is awfully weak and disingenuous.
This shit is ridiculous. And racist. And unamerican. And treasonous. And violent.
A “call to war”??? What type of patriot talks like that? This is the greatest country in the history of the world. Fuck your commie-inspired talk of revolution.
No thanks. I will stay here in the US and proudly support workers and teachers. I’m an American and I’m proud to be from America right now. We are the most advanced society in the history of the world, the greatest experiment in democracy, despite the bugs in the system. “No votes” for teachers is a new low. I’m here to promote greater freedoms and rights, you evidently have axes to grind against teachers, who deal with unfathomable levels of shit in order to educate our kids for a wage that is nothing special.
Good to see you coming to some sense, acknowledging that “net” tax payers should be able to vote. I thought that was settled back in Boston with the Tea Party, but good to see you’re conceding the point here in 2021. At least you’ve dropped the advocacy for the one vote per deed junk. That’s just dangerously regressive talk that should not stand. You can cry all you want about me wanting to pick a fight or whatever. But I can’t sit idly by when ill conceived proposals are floated that could set us back and hand over power to the richest in ways that would be unprecedented. So I guess your proposal is for voting on property taxes only by property owners (though tenants pay rent that most landlords calculate based on the entirety of their expenses, tax included) and then voting otherwise by deed holders, military, and net taxpayers. I’d estimate you’ve added tens of millions of voters to your original proposal.
How about we let every citizen at least 18 years old vote? Make sure that the voters are actually who they’re supposed to be, that nobody stands in line for hours on end to vote, that corporations aren’t treated as people in terms of campaign finance, and that the votes are all counted fairly and openly? Doesn’t that seem fair? More American than drawing lines on how many assets you need to qualify to vote?
In agreeing that soldiers (the “army” I believe you said) should have the right to vote is in fact a rejection of your earlier call for only landlowners you vote. Split hairs all you want, but your proposal originally disenfranchised hundreds of thousands of the people I think are most deserving of the vote.
If you think living and working and paying taxes and being a member of a community is just “passing through” because you rent and don’t own, I don’t think we will ever be able to see eye to eye. As I mentioned before, a young teacher paying off school loans and working a second job absolutely deserves the vote and a say in the community and country, and that doesn’t change based on whether that teacher pays rent or a mortgage for their home. Stop the elitist bullshit trying to rig things for the rich.
So why do have this democracy then? The federalist papers did discuss the dangers of mob rule. The checks and balances built into the constitution reflect many of the protections adopted to prevent that. The electoral college is another, though it also represents a political response to states rights concerns.
Folks, if the ball starts rolling toward fewer voters based on economic status, many good people here like myself can kiss their vote goodbye. If your concerned about corporate power now, just imagine what it will look like if people start getting tossed off the voter rolls for not having enough “skin in the game.”
Yes it’s a volunteer army. And navy, marines, Air Force, coast guard, state police, local police. Lots of people standing up and protecting you from dangers foreign and domestic. And the pay isn’t always very good. Thunder sizzle wants to strip the vote from people like this unless they buy some property. Except for the military now, according to him. Of course. But nobody else who is working for all us should have any say in how the country, each state or local government should be run until they pony up enough cash to be a land owner. Yes, no vote for firefighters or teachers or mail carriers or trash collectors until those unAmerican bastards can show title in their name!?! But the well born “elite” get an auto pass to voting once daddy buys them a house?
That’s just dumb. Go back to medieval Europe with this nonsense.
So you agree that property holding is an exclusionary bar that would keep out deserving votes like those of soldiers. Why should a fat ass whose father bought him a house get a vote when someone who worked his way through college and has a decade’s worth of loans to pay off before he can buy a house shouldn’t?
Nostradamus wrote unintelligible horseshit that is so malleable as to fit most any conclusion. That union of the Bear and the Eagle nonsense has been talked about since the late soviet days.
