Great. But that’s not what I’m talking about. No president before or likely after Trump so directly controlled the narrative. Nobody ever spent as much time directly speaking through an outlet as trump did. Nobody ever made the number of regular off air calls to a guy like Hannity that went through the issues and how they were covered. Yes, the media generally is very liberal. And yes every administration has favored voices in the media. But, as a matter of degree, trumps control over Fox News is unlike anything in US history.
If you consider Fox News’ treatment of Trump as “giving him a chance” then I look forward to being on the other side of a deal with you someday. Trump said what he wanted, when he wanted, for as long as he wanted on Fox News. They not only aped most everything he said but actually gave him the airwaves to say it directly. He used that network perfectly to reach his audience. Nothing like it has been ever done before, unlikely to see it again.
There’s definitely been a flow of former Obama officials to cnn, as there will be a flow of former trump officials to Fox News and OAN. That’s pretty much how it works now with many people leaving office. But there’s really no comparison between the way Trump orchestrated Fox while in office and Obama’s attempts at the same. Sorry if you think that will make people laugh at me. That’s how I see the last four years vs the previous 8 years. To me, it’s not even close. Your suggestion that there was no space for anti Obama journalism simply does not resemble anything I recall from the Obama years. Maybe you watched different outlets than I did. Fox News certainly was critical of Obama throughout his terms.
Sorry but I can’t deal with infowars and have no respect for it as a source. Alex Jones has showed himself to be unstable and a profiteer. What he has said and done about Sandy Hook alone is so low that I would never give him the satisfaction of another click on his website.
Show me another president who had closer ties to a network. He had Hannity on speed dial, they talked all the time. Hannity served as a more effective and voluminous spokesperson than the WH Comms team, which had greater limitations on it in some ways. Fox and Friends spent more time promoting and defending the president than anyone. I believe his hold on these talking heads was truly unprecedented. Yes, Fox news made some money from higher ratings but trump used the network to much greater gains.
“This is not AMERICA” and the solution for that is to create a new mechanism to “re-instate” a president?? The election is over. Come to grips with that and stop giving any credence to this Q bullshit and its game of moving goal posts.
Yet again, I have no interest in having anything to do with infowars. Bunch of scum bags over there.
